Working With Ewing Legal Group

What to expect during our consultations, how we protect your confidential documents, and what information to gather before we begin.

What to Expect in Our First Conversation

We know that discussing family dynamics, finances, and mortality can feel daunting. Our discovery consultation is structured to be calm, educational, and free of sales pressure.

Step 1

Goal Listening

We focus on what you want to achieve: protecting a business, safeguarding an heir, or simplifying generational succession.

Step 2

Structure Evaluation

We review your existing documents (if any) and explain how spendthrift provisions or revocable trusts address your goals.

Step 3

Clear Roadmap

You receive a clear scope of work, timeline, and document drafting roadmap before any commitments are made.

Confidentiality & Secure Document Portal

Estate and trust planning involves your most sensitive financial statements, tax records, and family information. We do not exchange confidential financial documents over unencrypted email.

Instead, every client receives access to our enterprise ShareFile Client Portal. Your records are protected with 256-bit SSL encryption, granular access controls, and SOC-2 compliant cloud infrastructure.

Helpful Preparation Checklist

You do not need all of these on day one, but having these available speeds up trust design and funding:

1. Existing Estate Documents: Copies of any prior wills, trusts, powers of attorney, or marital agreements.
2. Real Estate Deeds: Recorded deeds or property tax statements for all residential or commercial properties.
3. Business Entity Documents: Operating agreements, shareholder agreements, or articles of organization for LLCs or corporations.
4. Financial & Brokerage Statements: Summary statements for non-retirement brokerage accounts, bank accounts, and private investments. (If you do not currently have an investment advisor or portfolio counsel, we can introduce you to our vetted affiliate advisors to assist with your portfolio).
5. Key Contact Information: Full legal names, dates of birth, and contact information for proposed trustees, executors, and beneficiaries.
